Change of Perspective

Hi guys!

We have heard numerous writings about how people have different perspectives and that we ourselves should also try to view a situation from others' shoes as well, well I always thought that I took all those things into consideration before stating my point and standing for my opinion but something changed today.

I was reading about India's freedom struggle today and like most other days, I always thought that the non-violent way of freedom struggle was too cumbersome and maybe we would have gotten our freedom earlier if the assertives were given more time compared to the moderates and Gandhi Ji. My belief was further strengthened by the fact that the moderates were given 22 years and the Gandhian Era went on for 32 years but the assertives were only given 9 years. Maybe, if there were given enough time as well, we would have been free long ago and a more developed country.

But then, today all of a sudden my knowledge took me further into the past, time during the later vedic period were women had low status and the cast system was very rigid. This was when my mind starting running its daily hurdles and reminded me how it has changed now. These things would have restricted our freedom and who knows maybe we wouldn't be a democratic country either.

Maybe we would have taken lesser time or even more to reach the status we have now but one thing i was quite certain of now...
